The last thing Thea Maloney expects the day after her first love, Gerard Wyatt, is executed for a crime he didn't commit, is a chance to travel to the 22nd Century to a place called the Haunted Hollow. There, time has splintered into hundreds of timelines and a savage ghost war has ravaged the planet. One man stands between what remains of the human race and extinction, a man known only as The General. A man who also happens to be another version of Gerard. Thea’s mission in this haunted place is to solve the riddle of the broken timelines and show the General the power of love before he makes a choice that will doom them all. But how do you convince a man who already thinks you’re the enemy and who’s known only horror his entire life that you’re his soulmate?
Raised in the trenches of the Great Ghost War, the General lives and breathes only one thing. Death. His enclave of ghost hunters and refugees is all that’s left of the human race and he will do anything to reverse humanity’s fate, even if it means rewriting history in a bold gambit to turn back time. What he doesn’t count on is the arrival of Thea Maloney, a woman who makes him feel things he’s never experienced before. He knows he should keep his distance from her, but it gets more difficult with each increasingly sensual encounter. Was she sent to seduce and spy on him, or worse, sabotage the enclave from the inside? Or could she be the one person who can save them all?

Her hip jutted out, her hand landing on it. “For the mind-blowing sex or for walking out on me afterwards?”
“Mind-blowing, huh?” He suppressed a pleased smile.
“Don’t get cocky,” she said. He laughed and had to adjust himself. “Can’t help it. It always seems to happen around you.”
She returned to the bench next to him. “The arrogance or the hard on?”
“Both,” he said. “You’re fun to spar with.”
“Really? Then why haven’t you come back to the six a.m. training sessions? I thought maybe I bruised your ego beating you like I did.”
Her grin was infectious. He smiled with her. “You left some bruises all right, but not to my ego. The next time we spar it’ll be in private, that’s all.”
“Oh, I see, so none of your acolytes can watch you get your ass handed to you by a woman?” Thea laughed. The velvet sound soothed him like nothing else had. Her playful banter with him had helped him set his dark thoughts aside and made him feel, even if only for a moment, what it was like to be…normal.
So, like any normal, red-blooded male he moved in closer, his arm sliding around her shoulders. She gazed up, eyes wide with surprise, cheeks pearlized by the filtered moonlight. The General’s breathing hitched in his chest. She was so damned beautiful.
He dipped his head and tasted her lips. She responded, sampling his. He slipped both arms around her and tugged her in against him. He deepened the kiss, opening her mouth and drawing her tongue out to play with his. A soft whimper escaped her, mouth and lips and tongue improvising with his like they were making music together. Moans and sighs and groans of pleasure, all from one deliriously delicious kiss.
