Saccharine, Sickly Sweet
The story line is a good one but it could have used more action revolving around Isabel and the Figueroa Cartel. I was waiting for something badass to happen but I was disappointed. Maybe some threats against her to get Linc to back off or kidnapping a member of her family to get her to have Linc back off or something along those lines. With that being said, there was a whole LOT of super sickly sweet love story to give me cavities and a case of pre-diabetes.
The opening scene roped me in and I was able to get into the story but I had to fight through all of the mushy “I love you” moments while wishing that I could be reading more of the “ruthless” drug cartel action. If the Figueroa’s knew that they were being investigated they would have taken steps to either subdue or eliminate the threat altogether. I probably wouldn’t read it again but I would recommend to my lovey dovey friends who enjoy lots of sugar in their diet and choice of books.
