About the Book:
Major Samuel Bennett believes the newly widowed Lady Claire Huntingdon is a traitor. He intends to get the necklace he’s convinced she has, before sending her to the gallows. But when he meets the captivating widow, he discovers that nothing is as it seems.
Claire knows she can’t trust anyone, but she isn’t given a choice when Major Bennett arrives, demanding she give him the necklace. And it isn’t until she’s forced to put her life in his hands that she realizes it isn’t only her life she’s in danger of losing—but her heart as well.

Be Steal My Heart!
When Sam starts acting like a bully and moves into the house with Claire, keeping an eye on her every move as well as her recovery from the most recent attempt to take the necklace, letters, and her life; he makes me want to thunder punch him in the “jewels’. The fact that he took pleasure in Claire’s feelings of sadness, regret and being less than, made me feel for her. I wanted to shake Sam until either sense flew into his head or his small brain came out of his ears.
As the story progresses, I found myself wanting to jump into it to help Sam and Claire find the stashed jewels and letters. I felt as if I was the Bastian to their “Neverending Story”. Laura did an amazing job of intriguing the reading audience. When the love story starts to peak through the plotline, there were several moments of “awww”. When the truth comes out about the true relationship between the former Lord Huntingdon and Claire, I wanted to dig up the bastard and commit acts of savagery against his corpse. He was the reason behind her feeling as if something was wrong with her when it was all because of him. I was tickled pink with the ending and smiled as I finished the last page of the epilogue. This story is one that I will be recommending to my mother to read. A new fan has been earned.
