Pros: wolves are beautiful animals, powerful, fast, loyal to their pack and their mates. They almost never attack humans. Packs work as a team with a clear leader and pecking order. They’re social animals, and can be playful and affectionate with their fellow pack members.
Cons: living outdoors, wolves are subject to weather extremes and food shortages. They have to hunt for their food, and sometimes compete for it against other animals such as bears, hyenas, and cougars. To defend their territory, they may have to fight other wolf packs.
Of course, in the perfect fantasy world, the cons wouldn’t be an issue, since I could shift back to human after a good run in the woods, and return to my comfortable home for a nice steak-frites dinner complete with a glass of cabernet, and a fire burning merrily in the fireplace. :-)
How about you, dear readers? If you were a shifter, what animal would you be?
